A glimmer of hope from, of all places, Jake Tapper at ABC . The Press attempts to do the job of keeping the political class accountable. Now who do you think is telling the truth here? The evil investment bankers or the White House?
I just about lost it the other night when I saw the clip of POTUS telling us all how everyone had made sacrifices in the Chrysler deal except the investors in Chrysler. Just remember folks; with POTUS the business class is always made out to be the enemy.
Now watch. No matter how bad this merger of Fiat and Chrysler turns out, it will be spun as a great success. It has to be spun that way so POTUS can take credit for it. It is too politically important to fail. Mark your calendars. In 60 days POTUS will announce how well the merger is going and encourage all of us to go out and by a new car. It will be reported as an early business policy achievement that will give the administration leverage to take on GM and then the energy industry.
